The Windows Found New Device Wizard dialog box should appear, informing you that it has detected a new device and that it will automatically find all the necessary drivers. Once the reader is plugged in, you should see some activity on your monitor. Why? In a normal installation, the setup will prompt you to plug in the reader.

During the software installation, setup prompted me to plug in the reader. If you have cold hands, try warming your scanning finger by holding or blowing on your finger. You must use the same finger you successfully registered when initially logging into the system 5. Make sure you are using the correct finger. The best way to do this is with a piece of tape.
Pressing too long or too hard can cause a reading error. If you have dry hands, try applying lotion before scanning. If the scanner cannot read your fingerprint, the system will tell you the information you have entered is not correct. I have a registered fingerprint, but I m having trouble logging in why? If you are having issues logging into the system, here are some tips to help get a good fingerprint scan. If this does not help, try registering your fingerprint again or using a different finger. Why does the login screen show Service Unavailable under the password field? Either the fingerprint reader did not install properly or the web browser is not recognizing the installed reader. If you have any web filtering or other Internet browser security measures in place you may need contact your IS department to make sure you are not being blocked.
